They are painted in Photoshop.

Casey, update, pleeeaaasssseee! hey, I got an idea that we should start a new painting cult, where initiation includes painting with watercolor, fighting a lion, and scarification. whatda' ya' think?

Fabulous stuff... really fun style on these bgs... this loose, fresh style looks more like it was done by a painter than an illustrator... that kind of loose, fun work is missing from most TV productions. Makes we wanna fire up Photoshop when I see this stuff because it really looks like you're having fun with the style.
